Eily Hite: Excited to Join the Company

Hello! My name is Eily Hite and I am one of the student actors employed for the 2017 season at Hoosier Shakes! While I’m not attending school at Indiana Wesleyan University and majoring in theatre, I live in Converse with my family of seven where I was raised. I have been on stage for seven years and worked with the Community School of the Arts, Marion Civic Theatre, and the Indiana Wesleyan University Theatre Guild.

I am absolutely ecstatic to be working at Hoosier Shakes this summer as it is my first time working for a semi-professional company. As I prepare for this upcoming season I am surrounded by two directors and twelve other actors who know what it is to perform Shakespeare. I am working alongside artists who are prepared to sacrifice whatever is needed of themselves to tell the stories that Hoosiers need to hear. The fact that I am working with so many innovative, sharp artists makes this experience unforgettable. I’m overjoyed to be acting and learning among them as I know I will learn so much about theatre and life. When I auditioned for Hoosier Shakes I had no idea it would lead to the opportunity of a lifetime. I’m truly grateful to learn, grow, and experience theatre in a fresh way this summer. I’m itching to be onstage and get rehearsals started. Not because I want to stand center stage but because I cannot wait to watch the artists among me create and inspire me. When Shakespeare said “All the world’s a stage.” he was spot-on. I’m overjoyed to be performing on a stage in Indiana this summer in “Romeo and Juliet” and “Much Ado About Nothing” with Hoosier Shakes.
